Job Description Summary
Utilizes knowledge to work from blueprints and diagrams to accomplish correct installations and repairs in compliance with NEC and other regulations.
Diagnoses and locates electrical trouble efficiently and repairs in a cost‑effective manner.
Maintains a safe working environment by storing all tools and equipment properly.
Leaves work areas clean while ensuring all electrical safety precautions are taken.
Completes maintenance logs and books up to date.
Carries out daily routine tasks of checking the pneumatic tube system throughout the hospital.
Performs monthly tests on emergency power systems throughout the Medical Center.
Maintains familiarity with operating manuals and limitations of electrical systems to be worked on.
Applies the National Electrical Code and other applicable codes to the job.
Records daily activities with accurate accounts of all required information.
Qualifications
License/Registration/Certification
Valid Florida Driver License with no more than 4 points. Electrician License must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer.
Education
Preference for graduates of formal schooling or programs.
Experience
5 years experience required. Security alarm, CCTV, door access, and fire alarm system experience preferred.
