Job Overview

This position is open to current Colorado residents only. The Division of Facilities Management – Northern District provides facilities management services to all CDHS agencies and offices, including building and grounds maintenance, custodial, capital construction, utilities, vehicle fleet, space leasing, and planning services. Responsibilities

Perform general building maintenance including wall repair, flooring repair, and painting. Conduct mechanical room inspections and perform minor fence, lock, door, hinge, and FRP installation repairs. Perform minor roof, carpet, window, sprinkler system, fire alarm, and HVAC repairs and adjustments, including filter changes, coil cleaning, belt replacement, and machinery greasing. Execute plumbing troubleshooting and repairs of sinks, toilets, floor drains, and sewer lines. Execute electrical troubleshooting and minor repairs of light switches, receptacles, circuit breakers, and HVAC controls. Use Maximo work order system, labor tracking, and reconciling purchasing cards; complete required monthly status reports. Maintain accurate record‑keeping for work order tracking and other computer duties. Provide Job Safety Analysis and monitor and control expenses in accordance with the budget. Provide supervisor with estimates and proposed costs for preventive and routine maintenance and emergency repairs. Perform snow removal and other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Four years of building maintenance experience, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, HVAC, and general maintenance. Knowledge of tools used in this occupation (voltage meters, pipe cutters, hand‑held snakes, etc.). Basic computer skills: email, Google applications. Strong problem‑solving, customer service, and communication skills. Must possess a valid, non‑restricted Colorado driver’s license and must successfully pass motor vehicle record checks. Must be willing to receive an annual influenza vaccination or provide a medical exemption. Preferred Qualifications

Experience training people on advanced card access reader systems. Knowledge of hazardous materials, protective clothing, and storage. Manual dexterity for general physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs. Conditions of Employment

Full pre‑employment background check required. Must be willing to submit and pass a full background check. State of Colorado residency required at time of application and throughout employment. Must maintain a valid non‑restricted Colorado driver’s license; out‑of‑state holders must obtain one within 30 days of employment start. Travel required; will drive state vehicles to daily work assignments. Must be available for shift work, call back, and essential/emergency services. Benefits
