Teacher – P.E./Health Grades K‑5

to partner with the School Principal to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district‑approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress; addressing specific educational needs; creating a flexible, safe learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding progress, expectations, and goals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and administer elementary curriculum consistent with LEAP's district goals and objectives. Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction and student learning. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate them into learning experiences to best utilize instructional time. Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed. Instruct students in principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system. Continuously acquire professional knowledge and learn current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or conducting research. Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record‑keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws. Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents. Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and district policies and establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere. Coordinate with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum and participate in faculty meetings and committees. Select appropriate books, instructional aids, supplies, and equipment with the Principal and Chief Academic Officer and maintain inventory records. Supervise students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation. Administer standardized tests in accordance with District testing programs. Education & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Required New Jersey state teacher certification (Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), CE with Advanced Standing (CEAS), or eligibility for reciprocity with an out‑of‑state certificate). Required New Jersey state Health & Physical Education certification. Experience and comfort working directly in an urban classroom setting. Documented experience using data‑driven instruction to achieve significant student gains. Benefits
