Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center is seeking responsible and enthusiastic individuals for the Summer 2026 season and we want YOU to join our team! Situated on 220 beautiful acres in Reidsville, NC, we offer traditional, overnight, summer camp experiences to campers ages 8-17 and serve over 800 youth from diverse backgrounds each summer. Camp activities offered include: archery, arts & crafts, canoeing, challenge course, climbing wall, environmental education, goat husbandry, swimming, and more. Benefits: Starting pay of $300-$425 (varies depending on position), paid out bi-monthly Housing provided for duration of employment in gendered cabin spaces Meals/snacks provided during camp sessions (Sunday – Friday) We are seeking the following positions for Summer 2026: Cabin Counselors Adventure Program Counselors Activity Counselors (Areas may include: Arts & Crafts, Archery, Climbing Wall/Challenge Course, STEM) Lead Staff (Prior camp experience required) Brief position details listed below: Cabin Counselors
(Starting Pay $300/week): Responsible for the daily care and supervision of campers aged 8-12. Cabin groups are paired together during daily programming to make a co-ed activity group. Primary duties include group supervision 24/6 (day and night), group management, encouraging positive relationship building among campers, behavior management, and facilitation of basic programming. Adventure Program Counselors
(Starting Pay $325/week): Facilitate outdoor living and outdoor adventure programming for campers aged 12-14. Primary duties include those of the Cabin Counselor, plus overnight tent-camping experiences and off-site trips. May participate in training (lifeguard, high ropes, outdoor climbing) provided by camp. Activity Counselors
(Starting Pay $300/week): Instruct specialized programs and manage activity areas (Arts & Crafts, Archery, Climbing Wall/Challenge Course, STEM). Responsibilities include safety, equipment management, setup/breakdown, basic curriculum development, and supervision. Lifeguards
(Starting Pay $300/week): Run aquatic programming, supervise campers, and maintain safety. Must hold a current certification. Training provided by camp. Aquatics Coordinator
(Starting Pay $425/week): Manage lifeguard team and aquatics schedule. Requires current lifeguard certification (or willingness to become certified) and at least 1 year of prior relevant experience. Healthcare Staff
(Starting Pay $425/week): Manage day-to-day health needs, organize medical forms, administer medications, provide basic first aid, respond to emergencies. Must be certified in First Aid/CPR/AED; Wilderness First Aid, EMT, CNA, or similar certifications are a plus. Lead Staff
(Starting Pay $425/week): Administrative and staff management tasks; facilitate positive team dynamics and professional communication. Work Schedule
– Approximate employment from May 29, 2026 – August 7, 2026. Start dates vary by position. Most weeks begin around noon on Sunday and end around 2pm on Friday. You will be with campers Sunday through Friday (except breaks) and are required to live on site Sunday-Friday in gendered cabin spaces. Minimum Experience/Education
