Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician

As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician, you will support and oversee repair work within Walmart’s facilities, utilizing commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and a variety of hand, digital, and power tools to complete jobs. Your role will help maintain our facilities to the highest standards and contribute to exceptional customer experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance
Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience
Type I, Type II, or Universal EPA Refrigerant handling certification
Valid, state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report
18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and at least 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a commercial setting, or 4 years of related experience
Other EPA certifications for refrigerant handling (Type I/Type II)
Mechanical license in the city/state where the job is located (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a 2‑year HVAC/R program or mechanical license in the local jurisdiction
Extra experience in HVAC/R or building controls
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and appropriate tools.
Use the work‑order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and associates, and document repair activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s safety policy and environmental guidelines.
Lift up to 75 pounds, use ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.
