Employment Details Employment Type: Part time

Shift: Part Time Split Shift Rotates between 8am‑8:30pm and 11am‑11:30pm 2–12 hours per week Holiday Rotation

Responsibilities

Perform patient access processes, including accurate registration and pre‑registration, and insurance verification for eligibility.

Schedule appointments or procedures for various departments and enter patient data for services participating in PHS (Pathways Healthcare Scheduling). Coordinate multiple services in proper sequence.

Inform patients and doctors’ offices of required preparations and insurance requirements for each service.

Collaborate with multiple departments to best utilize equipment and facilities, accommodating physician preference and patient needs.

Maintain a courteous, professional manner, proactively developing customer relationships and prioritizing customer satisfaction.

Provide patient‑focused customer service, performing outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions.

Collect patient financial liability payments, ensuring patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre‑certifications and referrals.

Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.

Essential Functions

Research, collect, and analyze information to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and lead through resolution.

Collaborate on performance improvement activities to enhance program efficiency and patient experience.

Distribute analytical reports.

Utilize multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials.

Demonstrate knowledge of departmental processes and procedures and acquire new knowledge readily.

Compile information to support ad‑hoc operational projects and initiatives.

Synthesize and analyze data, providing detailed summaries and graphical presentations to recommend practical options or solutions.

Leverage program and operational data to define and demonstrate progress, ROI, and impacts.

Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and other policies and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certifications required within one (1) year of hire.

Additional (Nice to Have) Qualifications

Medical terminology knowledge and diagnostic/procedural coding.

Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations.
