Accountability Objectives Responsible for performing the Patient Access process, completing accurate registration and pre‑registration, and insurance verification for eligibility. Schedule various departments’ procedures/appointments, enter patient data for services, coordinate multiple services in proper sequence, and inform patients/doctors of preparations and insurance requirements. Collaborate with multiple departments to best utilize equipment and facilities while accommodating physician preference and patient needs. Display a courteous, professional manner, proactively develop customer relationships, and give high priority to customer satisfaction. Provide patient‑focused customer service, perform outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions, collect patient financial liability payments, and ensure patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre‑certifications, and referrals. Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.
Essential Functions Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates Trinity Health Mission, Values, Vision, Actions, and Promise in behavior, practices, and decisions. Researches, collects, and analyzes information; identifies opportunities, develops solutions, and leads through resolution. Collaborates on performance improvement activities. Responsible for distribution of analytical reports. Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials. Incorporates basic knowledge of Trinity Health policies, practices, and processes to ensure quality, confidentiality, and safety are prioritized. Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes and procedures and ability to acquire new knowledge. Researches and compiles information to support ad‑hoc operational projects. Synthesizes and analyzes data, provides detailed summaries with graphical presentations of trends, and recommends practical options, considering business strategy and leadership decision‑making. Leverages program and operational data and measurements to define and demonstrate progress, ROI, and impacts. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of Conduct, and other policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior and safe work practices.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certifications required within one (1) year of hire.
Additional Qualifications (nice to have) Medical terminology required & knowledge of diagnostic & procedural coding. Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations.
