Finance and Administration Officer
for its EU-funded activity in the Gambia to strengthen sustainable, in-country capacities for effective conflict management and peacebuilding in The Gambia. The goal of this project is to empower young women and men as positive agents of change for peace in their communities and in the public arena by building youth skills and assets, creating opportunities for meaningful youth engagement in policy and politics, and supporting youth and government alike to navigate a complex social, cultural, and political environment. The period of performance for the project is from January 15, 2026, to July 15, 2028. The Finance and Administration Officer will be responsible for managing all finance and administration for the project and ensures all financial transactions are properly documented and performed in full compliance with DI and EU accounting regulations, procurement regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.
This will be a full-time position based in Banjul and is only open to Gambian citizens. Manage all internal financial processes and maintain financial records, including tracking, reviewing, and processing revenue received and coding expenditures. Continually evaluate and develop internal policies related to financial management. Manage information and submissions related to organizational insurance policies. Manage and audit information related to federal, state, and local tax filings and business registrations. Serve as the administrative contact and liaison with outsourced vendors. Administer contracting process with all vendors to ensure execution of contracts and timely payment of invoices. Manage all aspects of office infrastructure and operations, including office space leases and maintenance, supplies, materials, and technology. Provide other such similar or related services as DI may reasonably request. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or a related field; Minimum of 5 years of experience, with a preference for experience with EU (or similar donors) compliance and reporting requirements as well as a thorough understanding of donor regulatory environments; A strong understanding of managing finance and accounting, human resources, operations, logistics, and security in the Gambia; Knowledge and experience with Gambian tax and personnel regulations and practices; Proficient in utilizing software such as QuickBooks, and SharePoint to streamline and enhance organizational processes; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, proficiency with entire Microsoft Office Suite preferred; Ability to work well within a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision; Professional fluency in English required Reporting:
