Senior Roadway Engineer

This role has the opportunity to work out of our office in either
Shaker Heights (Cleveland) ,
Maumee
or
Columbus, OH.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage
roadway and highway design projects for state DOTs, LPAs, and other public-sector clients.
Direct design efforts
for horizontal/vertical alignments, roadway geometrics, grading, drainage, and plan development.
Develop and manage
project scopes, budgets, and schedules to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
Provide QA/QC oversight , ensuring that our deliverables meet or exceed industry standards.
Mentor and support
junior engineering staff — helping to build a collaborative and high-performing team.
Partner across disciplines , working with MSG’s Survey, Geotechnical, Structural, and Environmental teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Engage directly with clients , fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction from concept to completion.
Contribute to business development , including proposal writing, presentations, and pursuit strategies that expand MSG’s transportation portfolio.
Represent MSG
in professional associations and technical committees, sharing your expertise and strengthening our industry presence.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor's degree
or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
10-15 years
of roadway design and project management experience
Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Knowledge of government contract management and knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices.
Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
Scope and budget development and oversight experience.
Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
Ability to look at situations from several points of view.
Persuasive with details and facts.
Delegate responsibilities effectively.
High comfort level working in a diverse environment.
