Paralegal – Medical Records
We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal – Medical Records to support the legal and compliance team. The ideal candidate will manage, review, and maintain medical records in support of litigation, regulatory compliance, and internal investigations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Key Responsibilities
Review, request, and manage medical records for litigation and internal investigations.
Organize, summarize, and analyze medical documentation to support legal cases.
Assist attorneys in preparing pleadings, discovery responses, and motions related to medical records.
Maintain accurate records in compliance with HIPAA, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and internal teams to obtain necessary documentation.
Draft correspondence and legal documents as directed by attorneys.
Support case file management, including indexing, scanning, and electronic file organization.
Track deadlines and ensure timely responses to document requests.
Perform other legal support tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or related field.
Experience:
2–5 years of paralegal experience, preferably handling medical records, personal injury, workers’ compensation, or insurance defense cases.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, record formats, and HIPAA compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and document management systems.
Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
