Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU position with Epic EMR experience and a WA or compact license.
Responsibilities
Position located in a Level III/IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Care for neonates as young as 23-24 weeks gestation
Unit features 77 beds with an average census of 50
Uses advanced respiratory equipment including CPAP/BiPap, high-frequency vents, oscillators, and standard ventilators
Involves administration of blood products, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blankets, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, and syringe pumps
Attendance at high-risk deliveries and involvement in neonatal surgeries
Epic charting system is used and experience is required
Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:30); block scheduling may be available
Open to floating to other campuses or units including Issaquah, Edmonds SCN, or Pediatrics/NBN (for newborn care only)
Primary focus on providing NICU care; admitting nurses handle most admissions
Travelers may rarely float to Pediatrics and would only care for infants when floating
Floating within the state may be required; refusal to float may lead to termination
Minimal to no requested time off (RTO) is preferred and must be addressed at submittal
Returning travelers must not live within 50 miles of the facility
Travelers are expected to demonstrate flexibility regarding campus locations and scheduling
Requirements
Active WA or compact RN license required
Minimum 3 years of NICU RN experience
Experience in high-acuity Level III or IV NICU settings required
Current BLS and relevant NICU certifications required
Epic EMR experience required
Must provide at least 2 supervisory references from the past 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
Previous permanent employees of Providence‑affiliated facilities must be separated for a minimum of 3 months to qualify
