Job Description We engineer success. Tokyo Electron U.S. Holdings, Inc. (TEL U.S.) is the holding company of TEL’s U.S. subsidiaries. TEL U.S. oversees the intensely innovative development and production of cutting‑edge products that are used globally in the electronics industry. Our employees work closely with chip manufacturers, material suppliers, and other equipment suppliers to pursue common goals and learn collectively in a pre‑competitive manner, ensuring timely solutions to the technology roadmap of the semiconductor industry.
Role & Responsibilities As the Senior Accountant, TEL U.S. you will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and perform general accounting responsibilities. The role is responsible for general ledger and accounting processes and controls. TEL U.S. develops and manufactures solutions for diverse semiconductor applications and provide sales and service support to for TEL semiconductor equipment at U.S. customer sites.
In this role, the Senior Accountant TEL U.S. will:
Manage the monthly close process including preparation of journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, and reporting of actual results in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS). Serve as subject matter expert on accounting standards to business partners.
Prepare and analyze comprehensive profit and loss, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports. Monitor revenues and expenditures at project and departmental levels, providing actionable insights.
Maintain, design and implement advanced accounting systems and processes to ensure compliance with evolving standards and company policies. (e.g., revenue recognition and costing)
Work with internal and external business partners (e.g., Operations, IT, financial management) to resolve accounting and business process and control issues and system enhancements as needed.
Assist with annual external and internal financial audits
Complete complex ad hoc reporting and projects and collaborate with senior management and external contacts as appropriate
Identify opportunities to automate and streamline as needed
Maintain and enhance professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related
Minimum 6-8 years of work experience in accounting/finance environment (prefer high tech, semiconductor industry experience)
CPA (active) is preferred
Skills
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Intermediate-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
ERP Experience, (SAP S4/Hana preferred)
Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and diplomacy
Critical thinking /Analytical /Problem Solving
Ability to exercise judgement & make decisions independently or with minimal direction from management
Excellent communication skills – both written and oral; excellent organizational skills; ability to present complex information to diverse audiences
Proven ability to work under tight deadlines / ability to multitask
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external business partners
Physical Demands and Work Environment
May be required to stand; reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel
May be required to sit for long periods of time
May be required to lift, carry, push, pull or move up to 15 pounds
Typically working within an office setting which may be noisy and distracting
