Job Summary This position is responsible for shipping, receiving, and delivery of materials and supplies, manages PO&M and Clinical Engineering capital equipment inventory in the Lawson Financial application, and coordinates all capital equipment receiving and delivery schedules for the institution with the PO&M Move Crew to ensure delivery to the appropriate UC Davis Health departments. Incumbent manages Aggie Surplus for the Medical Center Campus, consisting of excess equipment and furnishings, processes inventory control in the Lawson Financial application, and prepares/completes Aggie Surplus forms as appropriate to prepare items for sale. The position also manages recycling programs, including e-waste, wooden pallets, and various metals. Acts as a lead providing direction and support to ensure PO&M and Clinical Engineering warehousing activities are completed efficiently and safely.

Minimum Qualifications

Forklift Certificate

Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience/training.

Experience working in a warehouse environment.

Experience with Microsoft Excel.

Inventory experience.

Forklift Experience.

Ability to operate and maintain material handling equipment.

Ability to use PC to access and manipulate data.

Skills to communicate effectively with fellow employees, other departments, and outside concerns.

Ability to maintain files, records, logs.

Knowledge of procedures applicable to receiving and processing material receipt.

Skill for accuracy and speed under pressure and program workday for completion of all assigned functions.

Preferred Qualifications

Recent experience in a medical center or other related health maintenance organization is highly desirable.

Knowledge of University and private freight handling operating procedures.

Knowledge of commonly accepted inventory-management practices and University policy and procedures.

Ability to negotiate best pricing for recyclable materials.

Ability to operate required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.

Department Overview The Clinical Engineering Department provides a broad scope of services, including: medical equipment planning, pre-purchase product evaluation, integration with IT systems, installation, and repair and maintenance services to the UC Davis Health (UCDH), including its primary care network (PCN) clinics, and Shriners Hospital for Children, Northern California. In addition to repair and maintenance on most medical devices, we also provide services to the following specialty areas: medical imaging, radiation therapy, respiratory therapy, dialysis, anesthesiology, operating room, IT integration with medical devices, and ICU equipment.

Work Environment UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
