Position Overview ID3 Group is a Custom Fabrication company that is seeking a highly skilled
Scenic Artist
with a proven background in creating and building scenic elements for custom fabrication projects. This is not a general artist role—candidates must demonstrate experience in working with large‑scale scenic designs, theatrical sets, themed environments, or similar industries. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, excels at translating creative concepts into tangible, high‑quality scenic pieces, and possesses a deep understanding of various materials and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Conceptualize and execute scenic designs in collaboration with designers, project managers, and production teams.
Build and fabricate scenic elements, ensuring accuracy and detail as per the project specifications.
Utilize a wide range of materials such as wood, foam, plastics, fiberglass and metals to craft unique scenic elements.
Apply advanced painting techniques, including faux finishes, texturing, distressing, and color matching.
Assist in sculpting, molding, and assembly processes to enhance scenic builds.
Ensure all scenic work adheres to safety guidelines and quality standards.
Maintain and organize scenic tools, equipment, and materials.
Troubleshoot design challenges and offer creative solutions to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Scenic Artist in industries such as theatrical production, exhibit fabrication, or theme park design.
Proficiency in advanced painting techniques and an artistic eye for detail.
Strong hands‑on skills with scenic building, sculpting, and molding.
Familiarity with construction tools and equipment used in scenic production.
Ability to read and interpret design drawings, blueprints, and technical plans.
Effective time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
Flexibility to work on‑site and adapt to project changes as needed.
Preferred Skills
Experience with scenic builds involving carpentry, foam carving, or metalwork.
Background in creating themed environments or immersive experiences.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for large‑scale scenic projects.
Work Environment
Full‑time, on‑site position based in Atlanta, GA.
Fast‑paced and collaborative environment with a focus on delivering exceptional craftsmanship.
Hands‑on role requiring physical effort, attention to detail, and adaptability to dynamic projects.
