Essential Job Duties The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assigned to the Medical or Women's Health Clinic participates in the assessment of patients' physical and emotional health, including reaction to illnesses and treatment regimens, and records and reports results. The LPN implements the treatment plan developed by the RN, Physician Extender, and/or Physician, and documents the nursing care rendered and patients' responses in accordance with the North Carolina Nursing Practice Act.
Other Responsibilities
Assists with physical exams and administers medications.
Exhibits good documentation skills using Electronic Records.
Participates in fire, code blue, and emergency preparedness drills.
MUST report to work during adverse weather and related scenarios as well as public health emergencies.
Minimum Experience / Education Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Electronic Records software.
Clinical nursing experience that is current in an acute care setting, medical area, urgent care, campus health setting, or M.D. office.
Experience making referrals in community & patient teaching.
Appreciation of the needs of the college‑age population.
Training with exposure to blood & body secretions and communicable diseases.
Required License or Certification
CPR certification.
Licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in North Carolina.
