About the Position The Van Driver is responsible for safe transport of patients, personal effects, requisitions, specimens, charts, and miscellaneous items. The driver assists with patient transport activities as required and supports daily operations in the facility.
Responsibilities
Transport patients and/or specimens upon request.
Transport patients using wheelchairs and with stretcher transports.
Transport specimens to the laboratory and deliver blood and blood products in a timely manner.
Pick up slides for physicians to review from laboratory as requested.
Obtain supplies from central supply as requested.
Use automated systems in a timely and accurate manner to assist with patient care and logistics.
Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify care accordingly (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing/visual impairment).
Assist with environmental duties such as recycling, trash receptacles, and linen removal.
Adhere to the standards identified in the facility’s organizational competencies.
Qualifications
Minimum age of 21 years to operate a vehicle.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (three‑year check).
