Process Facility Design Lead – Industrial Bakery Capital Projects
Base pay range: $110,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Shape the next generation of bakery manufacturing.
Picture a typical week: you start in our Salt Lake City hybrid office, reviewing plant layout revisions and updating standards. Mid‑week, you’re on‑site at a U.S. Bridor bakery, walking the floor with project managers and process SMEs to validate equipment spacing and sanitation clearances. You end the week on a video call with colleagues in France and Holland, aligning design decisions for a new line and capturing real‑time feedback for commissioning.
What you’ll own
Steward a centralized, living design database for new and existing production lines, ensuring drawings, standards, and specifications are current and controlled.
Translate operational needs into robust layouts and technical packages; organize specifications and design selections to support capital projects.
Produce and manage technical drawings, design standards, and written design rationales; maintain consistency across multi‑site initiatives.
Partner with project managers, process engineers, and subject matter experts to resolve constraints and keep schedules on track.
Support equipment installation and commissioning, incorporating on‑ground feedback to optimize sanitary, maintainable designs.
Ensure compliance with Bridor standards, FSQA requirements, HACCP principles, and clean design best practices.
Location and travel
Based in Salt Lake City, Utah (hybrid work arrangement).
Travel up to 50% to Bridor plants across the U.S., with occasional international trips to France and Holland.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
4–10 years of experience in industrial construction, process engineering, or food manufacturing design.
Hands‑on proficiency with AutoCAD, BIM tools, and project management software.
Working knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and sanitation standards applied to facility and equipment design.
Exceptional communication, cross‑functional collaboration, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
Preferred
Background coordinating multi‑disciplinary or multi‑site capital projects.
Practical, shop‑floor approach to troubleshooting and improving industrial or food processing designs.
