We are seeking for a
Telemetry Registered Nurse
for a
13-week night-shift assignment
on a busy telemetry unit. The role manages
cardiac and neuro-telemetry patients
with expected ratios of
1:4 5 .
Epic EMR experience is required
and
first-time travelers are accepted . The nurse must be comfortable floating between telemetry units and supporting weekend coverage. Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to telemetry patients with cardiac and neurological conditions Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias Administer medications including heparin thrombolytics and PCA as ordered Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration as applicable per protocol) Perform IV therapy phlebotomy and central/PICC line care Care for patients post-TPA post-neurosurgery and with seizure or stroke diagnoses Manage respiratory therapies including HFNC CPAP/BIPAP and tracheostomy care Support Rapid Response and Code Team activations Provide post-procedural care for cardiac interventions (post-MI cath angiogram) Maintain accurate timely documentation in Epic EMR Float to comparable telemetry units based on census and staffing needs Key Requirements
Active RN license Minimum 1 year recent Telemetry RN experience Epic EMR experience REQUIRED BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification required or ability to obtain per facility policy Comfortable managing 1:4 5 patient ratios Willingness to float between like units Weekend availability required 48-hour schedules not approved Qualifications
Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Experience
At least 1 year recent Telemetry nursing experience Trauma Level II experience preferred Experience caring for cardiac and neuro-telemetry patients License
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of assignment BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) NIHSS Skills
Telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote) Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias IV therapy phlebotomy central line and PICC management Blood product administration Heparin and thrombolytic protocols Cardiac and vasoactive drip management Post-TPA and post-neurosurgical care Respiratory support (HFNC CPAP/BIPAP tracheostomy care) Neurological patient care (CVA TBI seizures spinal cord injury) Isolation precautions and wound care Rapid Response and Code Team participation Epic documentation
