$100,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from The Acuity Group HR Manager – Greenfield Manufacturing Plant (Highly Automated) – West Virginia Our client, a large global manufacturing organization, is launching a new Greenfield manufacturing facility as part of an expansion in North America. This will be a highly automated plant, with a strong emphasis on engineering, technical, and skilled manufacturing talent, and the company is seeking an HR Manager to build and lead all site‑level HR operations from the ground up. This is the sole HR role at the site and offers a rare opportunity to establish HR processes, culture, and workforce strategy in partnership with plant leadership from day one. The facility is located in a rural Appalachian community known for its access to outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and recreation, while still being within easy reach of Wheeling, West Virginia, and not far from Columbus, Ohio and the Pittsburgh, PA metro areas. What You’ll Do
Lead full‑cycle recruiting and onboarding for a new manufacturing operation, with particular focus on engineering, technical, and skilled roles Serve as the HR partner to plant leadership, supporting employee relations, coaching, and performance management Establish and manage HR policies, procedures, and compliance practices aligned with federal and state employment laws Oversee payroll and benefits administration; recommend and utilize appropriate HRIS and systems Maintain HR records and reporting, including key metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and training completion Coordinate and track required training, safety programs, and compliance documentation Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and culture‑building activities in a start‑up environment Partner with leadership on workforce planning and continuous improvement as the plant scales What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (HR certification preferred) 3–7+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in manufacturing or industrial environments Experience supporting technical and engineering populations strongly preferred Strong working knowledge of employment law, compliance, and best practices Ability to balance strategic HR leadership with hands‑on execution in a Greenfield or start‑up plant setting Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills Experience with HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and Microsoft Office Why This Role
