Job Description:

Practice Assistants play a critical role in supporting the daily operations of community-based physician practices.

The Administrative Coordinator serves as a key administrative support resource, acting as a first point of contact for patients and ensuring a high-quality patient experience through effective coordination, communication, and organization in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Responsibilities:

Provide departmental administrative support by performing receptionist and clerical duties.

Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.

Answer telephone calls promptly, gather screening information, and manage messages effectively.

Retrieve voicemail messages, return calls, and forward messages as required.

Support referral management and review of health insurance payors.

Organize, maintain, and retrieve patient records, logs, and controlling systems while ensuring confidentiality.

Coordinate new patient onboarding and related administrative processes.

Perform special projects and additional administrative tasks as assigned.

Experience:

Minimum of two years of medical office experience preferred.

Skills:

Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

Ability to thrive in a high-volume outpatient environment.

Demonstrated empathy, professionalism, and patient-focused mindset.

Qualification And Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Associate’s degree preferred.
