Pallet Inspector 1st Shift
– Ryder System, Inc. Ryder is immediately hiring Permanent Full‑time Pallet Inspectors for our warehouse manufacturing facility in Lakewood, WA.
Position Description
Hourly Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: First Shift Monday–Thursday 4:00 am – 2:30 pm
Manufacturing and Construction positions pay weekly.
Products Being Handled: Pallets Equipment: Palamatic Machine and Rolling Line

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
1–2 years experience in carpentry or a manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to comprehend basic math.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work within a diverse environment.
Highly thorough, dependable, punctual, with good attendance.
Performs work independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrates initiative and accuracy even under pressure.
Can work independently and as part of a team.
Creates and maintains professional relationships at all levels.
Opens power equipment safely.
Can lift/push/pull up to 50 lb and perform frequent twisting, stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching, kneeling, and repetitive movements.
Capable of standing and walking for extended periods (≥2 hrs, four times per 8‑hr shift).
Important Note Some positions require additional screening including employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle records check, road test, and/or customer background requirements.
Responsibilities
Operate Palamatic machine to inspect and separate pallets safely and securely.
Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a rolling line.
Ensure quality inspection and separation meets company and safety standards.
Conduct physical inventories as required.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Assist in maintaining warehouse security.
Conduct operations promoting safety and complying with OSHA, MSDS standards.
Wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets.
Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
Perform other duties as assigned.
