HR Generalist Location: 3131 Eastside Street, Houston, TX 77098
Pay Range: $60,000 - $65,000
Employment Status: Full-Time
Position Overview The HR Generalist will support day-to-day human resources operations with a primary focus on recruiting, onboarding, employee support, and compliance-related processes. This entry-level role is ideal for an HR professional looking to grow their generalist skill set while gaining hands‑on experience across multiple HR functions. The HR Generalist will serve as a key point of contact for employees and will help ensure HR processes are executed accurately, timely, and in alignment with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Support full‑cycle recruiting efforts, including posting job openings, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates
Assist with interview scheduling and candidate follow‑up to ensure a positive candidate experience
Support hiring managers throughout the recruiting process
Onboarding
Manage and process new hire onboarding in Paylocity, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Coordinate onboarding documentation, orientation schedules, and first‑day logistics
Payroll Support
Provide payroll support by assisting with data entry, audits, and issue resolution to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
Employee Support
Monitor and respond to inquiries submitted to the HR inbox
Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and general questions
Escalate complex issues to leadership as appropriate
Leave Administration & Compliance
Assist with administering FMLA and other leave of absence requests
Track leave usage and ensure documentation is complete and compliant
Support the administration and response process for Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) claims
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed
Support compliance efforts related to employment laws and internal policies
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR matters
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Familiarity with Paylocity or other HRIS platforms preferred
Basic understanding of HR laws and regulations (FMLA, payroll, employment compliance)
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Customer‑service mindset with the ability to support employees professionally
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn and grow within the HR function
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Primary work location: 3131 Eastside Street, Suite 130, Houston, TX 77098.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Majority of work is performed seated in an office environment.
