Collector – California Franchise Tax Board Base Pay Range

$6,646 – $8,324 per month (minimum salary for new state candidates)

Responsibilities

Analyze and resolve sensitive, high-dollar Business Entity (BE) collection accounts

Contact taxpayers via telephone and written correspondence to collect outstanding tax liabilities

Maintain and monitor an assigned caseload to ensure commitments are met by taxpayers, businesses, or representatives

Answer Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) calls for the CART and Early Stage Contact Center

Assist with other bureau essential workloads as needed

Qualifications

Experience and knowledge in proactive BE collections

Knowledge of California's Bank and Corporation (BC) Tax Laws, Personal Income Tax (PIT) Laws, Federal and State Commercial Laws, and Federal Income Tax Laws

Knowledge of FTB systems: Business Entities Tax System (BETS), Taxpayer Information (TI), Secretary of State (SOS), Enterprise-Wide Bankruptcy System (EWBS), Enterprise-Wide Lien System (EWLS), Integrated Nonfiler Compliance (INC), Lexis, Taxpayer Folder (TPF), and Case Management (CM)

Experience with Excel and Outlook

Experience managing an assigned case inventory

Excellent technical, written, analytical and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks

Excellent customer service skills with tact and diplomacy

Ability to work independently and on teams and adjust to changing priorities

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships

Reliability, professionalism, and courtesy

Strong work ethic and punctuality
