Job Summary
Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support the Nurse Manager and Registered Nurses in delivering patient-centered care. The PCT performs multi-skilled activities including measuring vital signs, documenting findings, identifying and reporting patient concerns, and moving or turning patients to ensure comfort and medical needs are met.
Position details: Hourly; 36 scheduled weekly hours; regular employee; Health‑21 pay grade.
Responsibilities
Measure and document vital signs.
Identify patient concerns and report them to care team.
Move, turn, or relocate patients as required.
Communicate issues to the Manager and Charge Nurse.
Qualifications
Minimum Training and Education:
High school diploma or GED required; at least 1 year of patient care experience or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
Basic Life Support required upon hire; must maintain current BLS (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent) and CPR/AED certification.
Physical Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors and outside in temperature extremes, from elevated areas, in confined spaces, kneeling positions, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, pinching operations, gross and fine motor activities, reaching overhead, repetitive hand/wrist/elbow/shoulder motions, using both legs, maintaining balance, lighting sensitivity, vision and hearing acuity, working rotating shifts, overtime, latex safe environment, and respirator use where applicable. Must lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted and meet other lifting capabilities as described.
