Position Summary Information

Position Title: Instructor, Adult Basic Education (ABE) - Project Search

Employment Category: Adjunct

Anticipated Days: Weekdays

Anticipated Hours per Week: Variable, up to 20 hours

Job Description Summary Plan and facilitate lessons for Project Search using the Adult Education Content Standards. Focus on developing students’ work force and social skills and supporting their ability to function in the following context with increasing independence: Employment – career exploration, job applications, interviewing skills, soft skills, etc.

Duties

Implement lessons designed to help students develop workplace readiness skills and strategies.

Maintain communications with students, administrators, and other staff.

Maintain student records related to the course.

Support overall needs of students related to enrollment, persistence, and completion.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Demonstrated experience in working with young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification and/or bachelor’s degree

Background in occupational therapy, music/art therapy, music/art education, home economics, vocational rehabilitation, supported employment, etc.
