Job Responsibilities

Serves as Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineer for permits, contracting and oversees the District 2 Paint Crew. Responsible for personnel matters including Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) reviews, disciplinary actions, and various other personnel procedures. Assists the Resident Maintenance Engineer and the Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineer during daily and emergency operations. Manages the maintenance contract process, including preparing quantities, inspecting contract work, and ensuring invoice accuracy for procurement to process payments in a timely manner. Reviews and coordinates all communication for contracts such as routine mowing, brush management, herbicide operations, concrete repair, and any other contract work performed. Inspects contract work performed to ensure accuracy and satisfactory completion before invoices are processed. Manages District 2 Paint Crew to include communication with all other counties in District 2 to maintain the business plan for annual painting and thermos needs. Responsible for communicating business plan requirements to D2 paint crew to obtain daily, weekly and monthly goal accomplishments. Supervises the encroachment permit process and various inspection activities, meeting engineering directives for all roads in the county. Assists Resident Maintenance Engineer in researching data and providing technical assistance in preparing reports for budgets, resurfacing and other short and long‑term programs. Investigates public complaints, work requests, and damage claims pertaining to contract workers and D2 Paint Crew. Recommends corrective action and ensures completion. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum And Additional Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and three (3) years of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. The physical demands for the essential functions involve sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time. This position may require occasional travel. May require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside normal business hours or respond to emergency situations. Additional Comments
