Accept projects weekly based on your availability and the needs of the employer
Perform comprehensive searches to locate relevant prior art and provide a complete search history
Prepare written opinions applying prior art to disclosures
Maintain proficiency with commercial patent searching databases and technical publications
Ensure compliance with the employer’s Code of Business Ethics and Corporate Conduct
What is Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related field
1+ year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field
1+ year of work experience in the industry or advanced research in a related field
Must pass USPTO Background check
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
How to Stand Out
Previous patent examining/patent searching experience
Highly skilled in developing search methodologies and conducting searches
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Experience with patent databases such as Orbit, PatBase, Google Scholar, or PatSeer
Master’s degree or PhD is a plus
