Under general supervision of the Medical Director and in collaboration with the administrative team, the physician implements the medical practice delivery model in accordance with the goals of the organization. The physician shares in the quality functions that directly impact medical services and collaborates with the clinical management team in overall planning and budgeting activities.

Primary Responsibilities

Provides quality, recovery‑oriented patient care following relevant medical practice guidelines, organizational mission, policies and procedures for medical staff to meet DCF licensure, AHCA licensure, and accreditation standards. This includes interviewing patients to obtain history, performing physical examinations, ordering laboratory and other tests, prescribing medications and treatments, and documenting all patient contacts accurately in the electronic medical record.

Collaborates with the Chief Clinical Officer and Medical Director to implement desired changes in medical services, address Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) goals for physicians, APRNs, and PAs.

Works directly with other providers and clinical staff to educate them on care processes and determine how to improve overall care quality.

Assists in relevant community outreach, training, and marketing efforts as needed.

Participates in various administrative meetings, committees, treatment team, and clinical staff meetings.

Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with colleagues and supervisors.

Serves as liaison with all programs and departments to ensure organizational objectives are met.

Establishes positive relationships with the local medical community and attends local medical society functions.

Acts as an active member of the medical team, providing modeling and support for APRNs and PAs as assigned.

Maintains current knowledge of best practices in addiction medicine and behavioral health service delivery.

Participates in the medical team on‑call rotation as needed and may be assigned other duties during emergencies to support service delivery.

Participates in special projects, grants, clinical trials, and other initiatives initiated by the organization.

Maintains Florida licensure and certification relevant to service delivery.

Performs any other duties assigned by the Chief Clinical Officer or Medical Director.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 1–5 employees.

Provides behavioral health services to individuals across the continuum of care, delivering evidence‑based treatment for mental health disorders and co‑occurring substance use, and leads measurement‑based care for positive clinical outcomes.

Ability to solve problems and handle situations with limited standardization.

Ability to follow written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.

Ability to perform CPR and other first‑aid procedures.
