Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Entry Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in East Syracuse, New York.

Pay & Benefits
Hourly Pay: $25.50 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter
Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday (Second Shift Tuesday – Thursday 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, Friday 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm, Saturday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm)
Annual Merit Pay increases each year

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Basic tools required
One year or more experience in transportation maintenance preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shift work/weekend as required, perform all entry‑level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of computers
Experience in transportation maintenance preferred
Must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background/motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
Responsibilities
Perform basic vehicle maintenance
Identify components and perform minor repairs
Perform preventive maintenance with training and support
Carry out facility maintenance duties
Diagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable
Perform other related duties as assigned
