Position Description: Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Entry Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in East Syracuse, New York.

Compensation and Schedule
Hourly Pay: $25.50 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday
Hours: Second Shift Tuesday‑Thursday 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm; Friday 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm; Saturday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Basic tools required
At least one year of transportation maintenance experience preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
Additional Requirements
Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shifts and weekends as required, perform all entry‑level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude
Computer proficiency
Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred
Drive Ryder vehicles; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities
Performs basic vehicle maintenance
Performs component identification and minor repairs
Performs preventive maintenance with training and support
Performs facility maintenance duties
Performs all entry‑level tasks
Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
Performs other related duties as assigned
