Warehouse Team Lead 1st Shift

Ryder is immediately hiring a Warehouse VAS Team Lead to manage first‑shift operations in Hagerstown, Maryland.
The role offers hourly pay of $23.69, with a weekly pay cycle. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm.
Responsibilities
Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
Allocate resources and organize daily work duties to team members, ensuring optimal shift/team operational logistics.
Inspire and guide team members toward improved KPIs using appropriate leadership styles and methods.
Assist in providing appropriate orientation for employees, giving them the necessary information, technology, and tools.
Promote health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
Handle day‑to‑day paperwork (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
Complete and submit daily reports, proposing action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High‑school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
One year or more powered industrial truck experience (preferred).
One year or more previous experience as a Team Lead (preferred).
One year or more Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) (preferred).
One year or more previous warehouse experience (preferred).
Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner (advanced required).
Valid forklift operator’s license.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Effective leadership skills.
Flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Minimal supervision required for independent work.
Excellent organizational skills.
Proactive approach to responsibilities.
Maintains composure under pressure.
Works using health and safety methods.
Bilingual (for Quebec locations only).
Knowledge or experience with an RF scanner (advanced required).
