Travel Program Administrator
Los Angeles Metro Base Pay Range:
$68,744.00/yr - $103,084.80/yr Responsibilities
Initiate and lead implementation of changes to Metro's travel business model to reduce costs, improve the business travel experience, and speed reimbursement of travel expenses. Draft and maintain travel policies and procedures. Assist Metro or Board travelers in estimating travel costs, establishing transportation and lodging availability, and answering travel‑related questions. Process Travel and Business Expense Reports prior to submission to Accounting. Ensure all travel complies with Metro travel policies and procedures. Research travel options for cost‑effectiveness and propose alternatives. Negotiate corporate hotel and car rental rates. Arrange and book airline, train, car rental, and hotel reservations; prepare tickets and itineraries. Process client requests, changes, inquiries, and cancellations; record ticket value from trip cancellations with airfare credits. Verify and monitor cash advance requests. Evaluate the best use of travel funds and make recommendations. Reconcile and authorize travel credit card expenses from airline purchases, car rental expenses, and vendor service fees. Manage relationships with travel vendors and develop educational materials and deliver training to Metro travelers. Prepare management reports such as Quarterly Project Management Report and Quarterly Vendor Report. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related field. One year of relevant experience as a domestic and/or international travel agent with corporate travel experience. A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation for essential job functions. Must obtain Airline Reporting Corporation (ARC) Specialist Certification during the probationary period. Preferred Qualifications
Experience using online booking tools such as SAP Concur or equivalent to book and coordinate travel. Experience processing travel requests and/or expense reports using SAP Concur or equivalent. ARC Specialist certification is desirable. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of governmental accounting, budgeting, financial recordkeeping, federal and state laws, and Metro policies. Skill in operating automated electronic reservation systems, performing financial analyses, and communicating effectively orally and in writing.
