Base Pay Range $17.00/hr – $20.00/hr

Responsibilities

Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.

Support pharmacy inventory management activities such as receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.

Champion On‑Shelf Availability, manage receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in‑store inventory processes, validating planogram accuracy.

Review and coordinate proper use of reports and system applications impacting accuracy of front end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.

Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods.

Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including required start‑up processes, cash handling, and ensuring floor and stockroom readiness.

Customer Experience

Engage customers by greeting and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions when serving as the leader on duty.

Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful experience.

Operations

Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.

Scan all deliveries and take appropriate action marking them as received, contacting vendors, and opening tickets as needed.

Verify all pharmacy shipments are posted for products physically received, completing or verifying postings of pharmacy warehouse orders, prescription and OTC orders, and other relevant orders.

Complete On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end processes including warehouse and direct store delivery (DSD) for planogrammed departments.

Complete pharmacy inventory activities including recalls, vendor returns, and salvaging returns, facilitating excess inventory returns or interstore transfers.

Execute all pricing activities such as price changes, markdowns, retail price updates, and regulatory pricing tasks.

Support front end and pharmacy ordering by ordering expense items and monitoring manual orders for excess.

Maintain accurate inventory counts and on‑hand quantities across all departments.

Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.

Assist in preparation for physical inventory and support physical inventory day activities.

Maintain a clean and well‑merchandised store.

Assist and coach store team on all package delivery activities, scanning in/out of packages, and supporting the Pickup Program.

When serving as the leader on duty, register all related sales and handle POS requirements.

Comply with company policies and maintain respectful relationships.

Complete additional activities as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

Attend company‑based trainings and complete all e‑learning modules, including safety training.

Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.

Communications

Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members, coaching and developing others with inventory systems.

When serving as the leader on duty, communicate assigned tasks to team members and report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Basic Qualifications

Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).

Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

“Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).

Attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.

Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.

Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
