Position Overview SUPERVISING MANAGEMENT AUDITOR

– Audit Chief – Caltrans – Sacramento County – Hybrid – Full time – Permanent – Salary $10,049–$11,979.

Under the Deputy Inspector General, the incumbent plans, organizes, directs, reviews, and coordinates audit activities of the Independent Office of Audits and Investigations (IOAI). The incumbent leads staff, establishes audit policies, and guides the unit to meet IOAI's strategic goals and meet auditing standards.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, review, and coordinate audit activities of IOAI.

Oversee staff in conducting audits.

Establish and maintain uniform audit policies, manuals, and procedures.

Provide leadership and guidance to meet IOAI's strategic goals.

Assure compliance with all applicable auditing standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Either I—One year experience in California state service performing professional auditing or accounting duties in a class at level not less than Senior Management Auditor; or two years experience in state service performing professional auditing or accounting duties in class at level not less than Staff Management Auditor.

Or II—Five years experience in a professional accounting, auditing, or examining position, at least two years of which involved direction of a large and complex independent and comprehensive post audit program; or four years experience in a management consultant position, at least two years of which involved direction of a large management consultant program.

Education: College graduate preferably with major in accounting, business administration, public administration, or economics and with minimum of six semester units of accounting. Must provide evidence of graduation or equivalent.
