Forest Assistant Manager (Permanent) – Elk Forest District, Cameron County Position: Forest Assistant Manager (Permanent) – Elk Forest District, Cameron County at Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Join our team to help maintain and enhance Pennsylvania’s state forests.

Description of Work The primary objective is to support the District Forester in the effective administration, management, planning, and safeguarding of natural resources within the Elk State Forest District #13.

Leadership & Coordination

– Provide leadership, oversee personnel, and coordinate programs, responsibilities, and equipment.

Mission Support

– Assist in achieving objectives, goals, and missions of the district, Bureau of Forestry, and the Department.

Additional Tasks

– Undertake additional assigned tasks that contribute to the overall success of the district’s initiatives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full‑time employment.

Work hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break.

Travel and overtime may be required.

Telework: up to one day per week from approved location.

Salary: may be non‑negotiable in some cases.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements



Two years as a Forester (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal job title) OR

Two years as a Forest Nursery Assistant Manager (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal job title) OR

Any equivalent combination of experience and training that meets the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirements

– Valid motor vehicle operator’s license (proper class for vehicles operated) issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Other Requirements

– PA residency requirement is waived; must perform essential job functions.
