Job Summary:

The Orthopedic Clinic Front Desk Coordinator performs essential administrative and patient support duties to ensure efficient clinic operations and quality patient care. This role assists clinical staff, supports patient check-in and check-out, manages scheduling, and maintains accurate records. The Orthopedic Clinic Front Desk Coordinator demonstrates knowledge of patient care practices and professional office procedures to appropriately support patients and staff. This position complies with all federal, state, and facility requirements and adheres to the policies and procedures established by Synergy Health Partners and the medical clinic.

Essential Functions

Greet patients, visitors, and vendors in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner

Answer multi-line phone systems and route calls appropriately

Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, paperwork, and office policies

Maintain patient confidentiality and always comply with HIPAA regulations

Surgery Scheduling

Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and identification

Ensure all required forms, consents, and authorizations are completed

Check patients out and schedule follow-up appointments as needed

Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments accurately

Coordinate appointments for orthopedic providers, imaging, and follow-up visits

Manage appointment availability to optimize provider schedules

Notify patients of schedule changes, delays, or provider availability

Enter and update patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system

Verify insurance eligibility and referral requirements when applicable

Scan, upload, and maintain patient documentation and records

Assist with obtaining referrals and prior authorizations as directed

Maintain a clean, organized, professional front desk and waiting area

Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding patient flow and needs

Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and electronic correspondence

Assist with special projects and administrative tasks as assigned

Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and safety standards

Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and teamwork

Maintain punctual attendance and flexibility in a fast-paced environment

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or GED Required

At least one (1) year of experience working in an orthopedic clinic Is required.

Have the ability to manage processes and clinical flow

Ability to work independently and with the team

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Outstanding customer service skills

Excellent self-direction, leadership, time management, and teamwork attitude

Creative problem-solving and decision-making skills

Detail orientation and focus

Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities and multitask throughout the day

Compensation Details 16-19 Hourly Wage
