Base pay range:

$16.00/hr - $18.00/hr .

Responsibilities

Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Register sales on assigned cash register; provide courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.

Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in pharmacy practice in accordance with state and federal regulations; use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions.

Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.

Showcase customer service best practices with team members, including greeting, eye contact, courtesy, proactively offering help, identifying needs.

Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service; recommend items for sale, trade‑ups, and companion items; handle voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges; direct customers to OTC aisle.

Maintain clean and merchandised counters and shelves, take inventory, keep records; check in and price merchandise as required or directed.

Assist with pharmacy duties: enter patient and drug information, fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, pouring drugs, verifying medication, checking for interactions; support pharmacists in scheduling and workflow; report prescription errors; comply with Walgreens Co. pharmacy policy and code of conduct.

Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including calls to physicians.

Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services; perform clerical duties as assigned.

Support pharmacy inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, storing shipments; maintain asset‑protection knowledge; file claims for overages, shortages, or order errors.

Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).

Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise.

Assist with food item segregation and product placement per policies; perform stock rotation using FIFO.

Knowledge of store systems and equipment.

Provide customer service in the photo area: passport photo, poster printing, machine service, suggestive selling.

Assume web pick‑up responsibilities: monitor orders, pick items, deliver to customers.

Assist with interior/exterior maintenance to keep store neat and orderly.

Follow all company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.

Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

Earn and maintain PTCB certification via assigned training program or state‑required certification/registration.

Attend training, complete PPLs as requested; acquire continuing education credits; stay knowledgeable in healthcare and pharmacy.

Basic Qualifications

Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico.)

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Approximately six months experience in a retail environment.

Prior work experience with Walgreens.

Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).

Good computer skills.

Knowledge of store inventory control.

PTCB certification.
