Base pay range $16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Register sales on assigned cash register, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.

Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in pharmacy operations: use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.

Customer Experience

Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.

Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful experience, including interpersonal habits such as greeting, eye contact, courtesy, and Walgreens service traits—offering help proactively, identifying needs, and servicing until satisfied.

Operations

Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.

Recommend items for sale and recommend trade‑up and/or companion items.

Register customer purchases, collect cash, and distribute change as requested; process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed. Take customers to the OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products.

Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised; take inventory and maintain records. Check in and price merchandise as required.

Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine correctness, and checking for interactions.

Report prescription errors immediately, adhere to company policies, and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.

Adhere strictly to Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.

Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist’s personal attention, including physician calls.

Process (correct and resubmit) manual claims for third‑party prescription services efficiently.

Assist Pharmacy Department with inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments; file claims for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.

Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco.

Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sales merchandise. Complete resets and revisions as directed.

Assist with product placement and stock rotation using first‑in, first‑out method.

Maintain knowledge of store systems and equipment.

Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, and creative machine.

Assume web pick‑up responsibilities: monitor orders in Picture Care Plus, fill orders, and deliver them to customers onsite.

Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure a clean, orderly store appearance.

Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

Earning and maintaining PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.

Attending training and completing PPLs requested by Manager or assigned by corporate to acquire continuing education credits. Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest developments.

Basic Qualifications

Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications

Six months of experience in a retail environment.

Prior work experience with Walgreens.

Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).

Good computer skills.

Knowledge of store inventory control.

PTCB certification.
