JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Dan Osborn for U.S. Senate is hiring a Field Director to oversee a robust and aggressive field program in what will be one of the closely-watched races in the country. As Field Director, your mission will be to oversee a comprehensive field outreach and engagement plan to connect with stakeholders across Nebraska and ensure there is timely and clear communication from the campaign to all volunteers and supporters. This position reports to the Campaign Manager.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…

Building a grassroots voter-contact program;

Managing a team of regional field directors to implement the voter outreach plan;

Supervising field staff as they make work plans and set goals that fit within the campaign’s strategy, and holding them accountable for outcomes;

Opening and supervising multiple field offices across Nebraska in coordination with the operations team;

Making sure community events across Nebraska are covered by staff or volunteers;

Identifying, recruiting and training volunteer leaders;

Hosting regular organizing meetings with volunteers and field staff;

Running phone and text banks;

Leading canvasses and building relationships with community leaders to amplify the campaign’s message while also identifying supporters;

Entering data, as needed;

Meticulously reporting back to the team, daily and weekly.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO…

Has a desire to learn and a willingness to receive feedback;

Is self-motivated and willing to work long hours (including nights and weekends) when necessary;

Believes in volunteer leadership, as volunteers will be at the center of our campaign;

Has strong interpersonal skills, experience meeting deadlines, and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience managing a field program;

Experience volunteering or working on a political campaign;

Strong knowledge of NGP VAN.

IDEAL QUALITIES

Experience managing a statewide field program or statewide paid canvassing program;

Experience hiring and managing a team of more than ten (10) full-time staff;

Personal ties to Nebraska or the Midwest.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a full-time, in-person position in Nebraska that will end when the campaign concludes in November 2026. You will collaborate with colleagues who are based across Nebraska. Campaign hours are expected of any successful candidate.

COMPENSATION

This is a salaried position that will be compensated between $8,000-$11,000 per month, based on experience. Moving expenses will be reimbursed for candidates from outside of Nebraska.
