Overview Join as the Construction - Billboard Installer at Lamar Advertising Company in Windsor, Connecticut. This entry‑level, full‑time position involves installing and maintaining billboards, handling large vinyl advertisements, and performing construction maintenance. The role works alone and must manage work schedules effectively.

Responsibilities

Remove and hang flexes and vinyls, cut and prepare flexes and vinyls for installation.

Build and install extensions on billboards, cut brush/weeds, conduct storm damage repairs and minor electrical repairs.

Use power/manual tools while adhering to safety regulations.

Attend installer and construction safety meetings as required.

Maintain operation vehicles and construction tools, equipment, and machinery.

Take completion photos for proof of performance of installations.

Maintain a clean workshop area.

Hourly rate $20–$22 depending on experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver’s license.

OSHA 10‑hour Construction course required.

Ability to work alone and manage schedule.

Willingness to work at heights up to 100 feet (up to 200 feet preferred).

Strong communication skills, English fluency.

Basic computer skills, Microsoft Word & Excel.

Knowledge of electrical skills and techniques.

Knowledge of fabrication skills.

Reading technical documents, blueprints, diagrams.

General knowledge of DOT and OSHA safety regulations.

Ability to safely use construction equipment.

Skill in documenting installations through photos and logs.

Practical mathematics skill for construction tasks.

Prior construction or billboard installation experience a plus.

CDL and non‑CDL licenses are a plus.

Previous experience at heights up to 200 ft. preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Outdoors, adverse weather, climbing heights up to 200 ft.

Heavy lifting up to 100 lb, extensive bending, pushing, reaching.

Less than 50% sitting, standing, stooping, walking, driving.

On‑call shifts may be required.
