About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its nonprofit conservation organization, which is dedicated to the protection and restoration of rivers and streams. The successful candidate will be a visionary and inclusive organizational leader with a strong background in environmental policy and advocacy. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include setting the strategic agenda in alignment with the organization's mission and values, developing and maintaining strategic partnerships, and serving as the primary external representative. The role also involves engaging with the media, representing the organization on various boards and committees, and leading fundraising efforts to ensure the achievement of annual revenue targets.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years' of experience in a similar leadership role, with a proven track record in fundraising and a deep commitment to the mission of the organization. They should be a compelling communicator, capable of making complex scientific and policy issues accessible, and be adept at building and sustaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. A strong manager and mentor, the Executive Director will lead a team of staff and work closely with the Board of Directors to execute current programs and identify new opportunities for impact. The role requires a strategic thinker who can balance bold vision with practical execution, and who is dedicated to fostering a culture of equity, collaboration, and shared ownership.
