A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced pharmacists to join their team on a contract basis. This role centers on managing rare and orphan drugs for patients with rare diseases, requiring specialized knowledge and clinical expertise. Candidates must have hands-on experience working directly within a designated specialty pharmacy environment. Responsibilities include: Handling high-cost, rare/orphan drug dispensing and management Assisting patients and healthcare providers with drug approval processes Navigating payment assistance programs, grants, rebates, and other financial resources Providing high-touch communication and support to both patients and providers Ensuring compliance with specialty pharmacy protocols and regulatory standards Qualifications/Desired
Experience: Proven experience in a specialty pharmacy setting (pure retail pharmacy experience will not be considered) Strong clinical knowledge related to rare and orphan medications Excellent communication skills to maintain effective interactions with patients and healthcare providers Ability to manage complex drug approval and reimbursement processes Location: Chandler, AZ Schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime shifts This opportunity is a 13-week contract with the possibility of transitioning to a direct hire role.
