A specialty pharmacy is seeking experienced pharmacists with a strong background in managing rare and orphan drug therapies. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with patients and healthcare providers, providing expert guidance in navigating complex approval and assistance programs. This role focuses on specialty pharmacy services, emphasizing clinical care and communication. Location: Phoenix, AZ Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with possible direct hire Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shifts Key Responsibilities: Dispense and manage therapy for rare and orphan drugs within a specialty pharmacy setting Collaborate with healthcare providers and patients to facilitate drug approvals and access programs Provide detailed patient education and support regarding therapy management Assist patients with financial assistance options including grants, rebates, and payment programs Maintain high-touch communication to ensure quality care and patient satisfaction Desired Experience: Proven experience working exclusively in a designated specialty pharmacy environment In-depth knowledge of rare/orphan drugs and specialty drug reimbursement processes Strong clinical expertise and the ability to communicate complex information clearly Experience supporting patients and providers through insurance approvals and financial assistance pathways Background that excludes pure retail roles; specialty pharmacy experience is mandatory This role is ideal for pharmacists who thrive in dynamic, clinical, and patient-focused settings, and who have a passion for helping patients access challenging therapies.
