Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A licensed Special Education Teacher is needed for a full-semester contract position supporting elementary students. This role is based in Staten Island, NY, within an elementary school setting, focusing on delivering tailored educational programs to students with special needs. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with each students unique needs. Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create inclusive learning environments. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians about academic progress and behavioral goals. Employ evidence-based teaching strategies and resources that support effective communication and positive learning experiences for all students. Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education or a related field focused on special needs education. Active Special Education teaching certification valid in New York State. Successfully pass required background checks, drug screening, and fingerprinting. Strong communication and organizational skills. Prior experience in a school setting is preferred.
