This opportunity seeks experienced specialty pharmacists to support patients with rare diseases by managing rare and orphan drug therapies at a specialty pharmacy in Mesa, AZ. This contract role requires expertise beyond retail pharmacy experience, focusing on specialty pharmacy operations with a high level of clinical involvement and patient care. Responsibilities: Manage dispensing and clinical oversight of rare/orphan drug therapies. Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to facilitate medication approvals and access. Assist patients with navigating insurance, payment assistance programs, grants, rebates, and other financial resources. Communicate effectively to support treatment plans and ensure patient adherence. Maintain detailed records and comply with regulatory requirements related to specialty pharmaceuticals. Qualifications: Proven experience working in a designated specialty pharmacy settingretail pharmacy experience alone will not be considered. In-depth knowledge of rare and orphan drugs, including handling the complexities of patient access and medication approval processes. Strong clinical skills combined with excellent communication abilities to provide high-touch support to patients and providers. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime hours. This is a contract role scheduled for 13 weeks with a strong possibility for direct hire, offering a dynamic work environment focused on innovative specialty care.
