Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A specialized teaching position is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support severely and profoundly handicapped students in a high school setting. This contract role is focused on delivering tailored educational programs for students with significant needs. Location: Warwick, Rhode Island Grade Levels: Middle and High School Job Duration: Contract, Continuing School Year Schedule: 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week Caseload: Up to eight students with severe to profound disabilities Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with severe and profound disabilities Utilize specialized instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of students with significant impairments Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff, to ensure comprehensive care and educational support Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with educational guidelines and regulations Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence Desired Qualifications and Experience: Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience working specifically with students who are severely and profoundly handicapped; moderate disability experience is not applicable for this role Strong knowledge of individualized instruction and assistive technology Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and related professionals Ability to manage a caseload of up to eight students requiring intensive support This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with the most significant educational challenges.
