Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school-based position is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in severe to profound disabilities, serving middle to high school-aged students. This contract role offers a full-time schedule of 7 hours per day, totaling 35 hours per week, for the current school year. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized instruction and support to students with severe to profound disabilities. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs. Manage a caseload of up to eight students, ensuring all receive appropriate accommodations and interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, counselors, and parents, to support student progress. Monitor and document student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Qualifications and Experience: Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience working with students who have severe to profound disabilities; moderate-level caseloads are not applicable for this position. Ability to design and deliver engaging, individualized lessons. Strong classroom management skills and patience. Effective communication skills with students, families, and colleagues.
