Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with severe to profound disabilities in a Middle/High School setting. The role offers a contract position during the current school year in Providence, RI. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with severe to profound handicaps, ensuring individualized education plans are effectively implemented. Manage a caseload of up to eight students, providing comprehensive support to meet their unique academic and developmental needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, aides, and families to create a supportive learning environment. Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations, promoting student inclusion and engagement. Qualifications and Experience: Valid Special Education Teaching certification. Proven experience working with students who have severe to profound disabilities. Ability to manage a specialized caseload of middle and high school students. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and families. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Work Schedule and Location: Position based in Providence, Rhode Island. Contract role during the current school year (CSY). Full-time schedule: 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week. This role requires a compassionate and patient educator ready to make a meaningful impact on students lives by addressing complex learning needs with expertise and dedication.
