Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contracted Special Education Teacher position is available to support middle school students in grades 7 and 8. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction in math, science, and social studies within a structured and collaborative learning environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with self-contained and co-taught classrooms, providing tailored lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with special education requirements. Key Responsibilities: Deliver self-contained instruction in math and science for two sections of 7th and 8th grade students Co-teach two sections of social studies alongside general education teachers Manage a case load of 8-10 students with individualized education plans (IEPs) Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate varying learning abilities Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student growth and achievement Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate regularly with families and staff Qualifications: Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience with middle school level math and science instruction Demonstrated ability to co-teach and collaborate effectively Strong organizational and communication skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment Location and Schedule: Position based in Naperville, IL School-year contract starting ASAP through June 6th Daily hours from 7:25 AM to 3:15 PM This opportunity allows for meaningful impact by supporting middle school students academic and social development through specialized instruction.
