Seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher with expertise in Science and Math for a Middle School contract position in Joliet, IL. This role is ideal for educators passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of 7th and 8th-grade students by supporting diverse learning needs within self-contained and co-taught classroom settings. Position Details: Location: Joliet, Illinois Grade Levels: 7th and 8th grade Assignment: Special Education Teacher, Middle School Duration: Contract position (ASAP start date through June 6th) Hours: 7:25 AM 3:15 PM Caseload: 8-10 students Teaching Responsibilities:
Two sections of self-contained math and science for special education students Two sections of co-taught social studies alongside general education teachers
Qualifications and Experience: Valid Special Education teaching certification Strong background in Science and Math instruction at the middle school level Experience managing small caseloads in self-contained and co-teaching environments Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet individual student needs Effective classroom management and collaboration skills with faculty and staff Key Responsibilities: Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students with special education needs Collaborate with co-teachers to provide inclusive social studies education Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages student growth This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic educational setting, providing critical support to middle school students with diverse learning profiles.
